Returning war veterans and vet\responders in our era have dedicated years of patriotic service to the nation and community — having gone repeatedly in harm's way with only modest compensation. Too many do not return or return changed in ways that they hadn't planned for.
'Almost Home' is an effort to celebrate, to honor and to act for America's many veterans who have served in direct combat and in war zones — and to bolster community awareness and gratitude to the many veterans who have returned from military duty and continued serving their towns, cities, and states as first responders in law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical response and other forms of service.
Read some of the compelling stories from participating veterans here.
