There are a great many ways you can get involved with the Brookfield Institute. For example, we invite you to volunteer in our office or in one of our programs, working with military families. Or if you prefer to be outdoors, we will be expanding the gardens and creating a labyrinth this spring and summer. Would you like to help ?

Between the impact of the initial earthquake and the subsequent tsunami, coupled with the substantial aftershocks that have rocked the country, about 2 million people have been left homeless. The national office of the Pentecostal Church of Chile has already begun to build houses for the newly-homeless. They have turned the open-air patio of the church into a "factory" to construct the walls and frames of prefabricated homes. These homes will be transported in trucks to the sites, where foundations will be poured and pilings will be built. Each home costs about $2,000 to construct and transport. The Church has a goal of completing 300 homes before winter.
